How do you use the light of Meridia?
Turn to the left of Cadwell. You will see the Light of Meridia. Just head over to it and interact with it to be whisked away to the second alliance for you to explore.

It is possible to climb down onto the balcony without entering the rest of the ruins, but only the chest can be looted this way: both doors, to the Temple and Ruins, are key-locked until Meridia’s light has been guided through the Temple.

How good is Dawnbreaker?
Its by far one of the best looking weapons in the game but sadly its not as strong as it should have been. Mine does like 68 upgraded to legendary with like maybe 2 perks in the one handed tree. They really unpowered most of the unique weapons in this game. My daedric swords do twice as much base damage.
Should I pick up Meridia’s Beacon?
That said there no reason not to grab it. It will start the quest and you’ll have to listen to Meridia’s initial dialogue but that’s it until you reach the shrine. As a quest item the beacon doesn’t weigh anything either.
Is Meridia a Daedra?
Meridia is one of the few Daedric Princes considered to be benevolent by mortals. This is attributable to her originally being a Magne-Ge, thus her interests are aligned with what would become the mortal races enough to (at least initially) agree to help create Nirn.
